About Latavia

Latavia Sturdivant is a Bronx-born educator, disability advocate, and Ms. Wheelchair America 2026. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Lehman College (CUNY) and her master’s degree from Columbia University. She is licensed to practice Speech Language Pathology in New York and Maine.
Latavia works in the NYC school system with students from preschool through high school and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Lehman College. She is also the creator, editor, and host of the Queens On A Roll podcast.
Rooted in lived experience, her work focuses on disability equity, durable medical equipment access, Medicaid parity, and amplifying disabled voices across education, media, and policy spaces.
